You can't be it if you can't see it..

I grew up with the thought that "If you look at a tree long enough, it will move." We see what we want to see.

My younger son who is just 5.5yrs was chosen to act the role of a “KING” in his pre-school drama evening. He was very happy that evening because he had to start his rehearsals from the very next day. After two days his teacher called me that I have to prepare his costume for a “RAT” and not of a “KING”. Upon getting into details, I was informed by the teacher that during the practice, my little one chose to become a “RAT”. Like the teacher, I was also surprised as what made him take this decision.

The same evening, while I was cuddling with my two sons, I asked the little one if he has opted to play the role of a “RAT”. To my surprise he nodded in confirmation. His elder brother started laughing and called him silly. But the little one said in his innocent words “Mama, I sat on the throne with a hard face, nothing to do. It was so boring. But the kids who were playing the role of rats were dancing and they made the king and his son smile too. I decided to join them.”

My elder son made fun of him that your friends will call and tease you as a “RAT” , to which he replied “no, I am the rat like Stuart Little”

Later he performed in the drama evening as “RAT” and did his performance so enthusiastically that the entire audience giggled, smiled and clapped. He won as “The Most Cutest Rat” while the king was just a character in the play. He knew he will be a “celebrity rat” like his Stuart Little and he made it.

This entire event tell us that nothing controls our lives more than our self-image. We are what we think we are. If you don't think you'll see being successful, you won't. You can't be it if you can't see it. Your life is limited to your vision. If you want to change your life, you must change your vision of your life.

When James Carville was a kid he was obsessed with political campaigns the way other kids were obsessed with sports. During the 1992 Presidential campaign there was no greater superstar-whacko than Clinton's political operative, James Carville. With his shaved bald head, sharp facial features, and his deep Louisiana accent he seemed like a man out of the Twilight zone!

He's now considered to be one of the greatest political operatives of a generation. But, before he ended up on that fateful campaign in his early 40's he was dead broke, had won only a handful of elections, and had never even been approved for a credit card. On paper, he looked like a complete failure. By not giving up,he ended up in the White House.

"No one will ever accuse James Carville of taking himself seriously." - James Carville

Oprah Winfrey’s childhood was frightful and filled with horrible abuse and poverty. But, like most successful people, Oprah doesn't dwell on stuff like that.

"I don’t think of myself as a poor deprived ghetto girl who made good. I think of myself as somebody who from an early age knew I was responsible for myself, and I had to make good." - Oprah Winfrey

I'll close with another quote by Michael Jordan..

"Some want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." - Michael Jordan

Now go make something happen…
Believe in yourself and how your distinctive style can change the direction of the winds and make you a WINNER, a STAR and a WONDER.

If you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it...

Often we are subjected to the strong perception built by so-called practical people that heart misleads and brain leads to right decisions. Somehow, this belief is accepted universally and we have all the logics to prove it right.

Sit back calmly and think if brain is what you all need to make a difference, to start afresh, to do the extraordinary or to succeed? Surprisingly, we all will find the answer to be a "NO". World's most successful people did not reach the top with their brains or skills alone but what took them to the top was their passion to make the difference. Your dream, your passion, your inspiration are pulsated in your heart. When passion and skill work together, the end result is often a masterpiece.

There are people who live in a dream world (followers of heart), and there are people who face reality (practical); and then there are those who turn one into the other and these are the people who make history, discover the hidden, innovate and invent and stand significantly successful in life. Neglecting passion blocks creative flow.  When you’re passionate, you’re energized.  Likewise, when you lack passion, your energy is low and unproductive.  Energy is everything when it comes to being successful.
Its when you break down and no matter how many times you break down, the little voice inside you that says, “NO, you’re not done yet!  Get up one more time!” That’s the voice of passion and courage; what lifts you is not your skills or brains... what gets you going is your heart that believes in the power of your brains and finesse of your skills.

If you find yourself working hard and loving every minute of it, don’t stop.  You’re on to something big.  Because hard work isn’t hard when you concentrate on your passions.Any lack in skill can be more than made up for by how hard you work towards a goal you care about.

There are many things in life that will catch your eye, but only a few will catch your heart. If you are passionate about it, pursue it, no matter what anyone else thinks.  That’s how dreams are achieved.. that's how Oprah won millions of hearts, that's how Steve Jobs stood successful, that's how Einstein invented, that's how Mother Teresa served, that's how Gandhi made the difference and  that's how you will shine. When we focus on leading a passionate, meaningful life, we are also inadvertently creating a spectacular ripple effect of inspiration in the lives around us.  When one person follows a dream, tries something new, or takes a daring leap, everyone nearby feels their passionate energy; and before too long, they are making their own daring leaps while simultaneously inspiring others.

Try not to underestimate your heart and overrate your brains... be true to your heart and it will instill passion in your work and you will be SUCCESSFUL.Your work is to discover your work and then, with all your heart, to give yourself to it.

To all beautiful souls out there, blessings to you, your work, your passion and all who will benefit from it:)
